When first wearing full dentures, it is important to build confidence in using them and practice wearing them in the mouth as much as possible. Initially, there may be a foreign body sensation, or even difficulty swallowing saliva, nausea, and unclear pronunciation. It is important to be mentally prepared for these possibilities before wearing them. Secondly, correct any habits such as forward protrusion of the mandible or unilateral chewing that may have developed due to long-term tooth loss. Regarding eating, it is not advisable to chew food with dentures too early. For the first few days after initial fitting, practice performing centric occlusion and pronunciation while wearing the dentures.

Secondly, correct any jaw protrusion or unilateral chewing habits developed due to long-term tooth loss. Regarding eating, avoid chewing food with dentures too soon after initial placement. For the first few days, practice wearing the dentures to achieve centric occlusion and improve speech. Once comfortable, begin chewing food, starting with small, soft pieces, chewing slowly using the posterior teeth on both sides. Gradually increase to a normal diet over time. After meals, remove the dentures, rinse with cold water or brush them clean before replacing them to prevent food debris from accumulating on the tissue surface, irritating the oral mucosa, and affecting tissue health. Also, brush the palate and tongue. Remove dentures at night and soak them in cold water to allow the edentulous ridge tissues to rest, promoting tissue health. Clean dentures thoroughly with toothpaste at least once a day, ideally after every meal. Be extra careful when cleaning to avoid dropping and damaging them.
